Research Interests

  1. Precise Intelligent Diagnosis of Biliary Diseases: High-Accuracy Computer Graphics-Based Intelligent Diagnostic Model for Bile Duct Dilation

    Achieved intelligent 3D visualization of the biliary tract through multi-scale network technology. Based on near-realistic 3D biliary images, mined morphological and geometric diagnostic markers for bile duct dilation that are difficult to describe by visual experience alone. Further developed a high-accuracy computer graphics-based intelligent diagnostic model using machine learning. This achievement can comprehensively and homogenously elevate disease diagnostic levels and efficiency while reducing misdiagnosis and mistreatment rates, holding significant importance for improving the diagnosis of complex benign biliary diseases.

  2. Accurate Identification of Lesion Extent in Biliary Diseases: Research on Infiltration Range of Hilar Cholangiocarcinoma Using a Panoramic Digital Pathology System

    Established an innovative research system—the Panoramic Digital Pathology System—enabling visualizable and quantifiable pathological studies of large liver specimens. This system panoramically locates tumor infiltration ranges and displays pathological information such as overall differentiation degree and immune status, providing technical support for research on other hepatobiliary diseases.

    Using this system, clarified the intrahepatic infiltration range and pathways of hilar cholangiocarcinoma, providing high-level pathological evidence for exploring disease biology and selecting liver resection extent. Simultaneously identified liver resection margin status and established a standardized pathological evaluation method for margins. This series of studies provides high-level academic evidence for improving radical resection rates and enabling precise pathological evaluation.

  3. Precision Surgical Planning for Hepatobiliary Diseases: Research on an Intelligent Precision Hepatobiliary Surgery Planning System

    Developed a precise, fully quantitative hepatobiliary surgery planning system based on deep learning and computer graphics technology. Capable of rapidly achieving high-precision intelligent 3D reconstruction of hepatic vasculature, liver segmentation, volume calculation, and sub-specialty hepatobiliary surgery planning. Significantly enhanced surgical planning efficiency and radical resection rates, while reducing planning workload and saving surgeons tens of thousands of hours in planning time.

  4. Multi-Omics Studies on the Pathogenesis and Progression Mechanisms of Biliary Diseases

    The pathogenesis and progression mechanisms of biliary diseases are complex, involving interactions among genetic, environmental, metabolic, and immunological factors. Multi-omics research integrates data from genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and other levels, providing novel perspectives for deciphering the molecular mechanisms of biliary diseases, identifying potential biomarkers, and developing targeted therapies.

  • Published papers as first or corresponding author (including co-first/corresponding) in journals including Annals of Surgery, International Journal of Surgery, Applied Soft Computing, and American Journal of Surgical Pathology.

  • Granted 4 patents as the first inventor.

  • Completed one major transformation of patented scientific achievement as the primary contributor: the "Intelligent Precision Hepatobiliary Surgery Planning System" (Patent No. CN112446893B). The resulting product obtained NMPA Class II certification and has been deployed in 35 hospitals, significantly enhancing hepatobiliary surgical planning efficiency.

  • Contributed to the publication of one monograph on hilar cholangiocarcinoma.

  • Led the drafting of two industry guidelines for complex biliary diseases: "Guidelines for Diagnosis and Treatment of Intrahepatic Bile Duct Stones" and "Guidelines for Diagnosis and Treatment of Hilar Cholangiocarcinoma".
