Doctor of Medicine, Professor, Chief Physician, Doctoral Supervisor. Graduated from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. During his master’s and doctoral studies, and during the National TCM Clinical Talent Training Program under the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, he studied under Master of Traditional Chinese Medicine Lü Renhe, Academician Wang Yongyan, and Capital Master of Traditional Chinese Medicine Xiao Chengcong. Currently serves as Vice President of Tsinghua University Yuquan Hospital (Tsinghua University Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine). Serves as Board Member of the Chinese Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Vice Chair of the Diabetes Committee of the China Association of Chinese Medicine. Vice Chair and Secretary-General of the TCM Work Committee of General Hospitals of the China Association of Chinese Medicine. Vice President of the Diabetes Committee of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies. Board Member of the Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine and Executive Member of the Committee on Endocrine and Metabolic Diseases. Executive Member of the Integrative Medicine Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association. Vice President of the Beijing Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Vice President of the Beijing Association of the Integrating of Traditional and Western Medicine.

Teaches traditional Chinese medicine courses at Tsinghua University. Offers the general education course “Understanding and Appreciating Traditional Chinese Medicine” to undergraduate students from non-medical majors, aimed at enhancing patriotic values among science and engineering students. Offers the course “Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine” to graduate students, leading efforts to advance the role of both medical systems in the national Healthy China strategy. Serves as a member of the Academic Committee of the School of Clinical Medicine of Tsinghua University. Also holds a concurrent professorship at the Peking University Health Science Center. Also serves as a doctoral supervisor at Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, and has trained multiple doctoral and master’s students. Has undertaken research in major national programs including the National Basic Research Program (973 Program), the National Natural Science Foundation, and the National Science and Technology Major Projects.

Has received awards including the Second Prize of the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award. Chief editor of TCM-Based Treatment for Diabetes and Its Complications. Co-author of the industry-standard guideline TCM and Integrated Medicine Guidelines for the Prevention and Treatment of Diabetes. Has authored or contributed to 15 professional publications. Has published over 90 academic papers. Former academic leader for the National Clinical Key Specialty in TCM Endocrinology designated by the National Health Commission, and for the TCM Diabetes Key Specialty designated by the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Honored as one of the “Top 100 Outstanding Young TCM Practitioners in China” by the Chinese Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Recipient of the “Science and Technology Star”, “Outstanding Management Talent Award”, and “Capital TCM Master” awards. Serves as Editorial Board Member of Journal of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (Clinical Edition). Serves as Editorial Board Member of Beijing Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Serves as Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Diabetes Rehabilitation.
