Academician Jiahong DONG is the chief expert of the Center for Digital Health and Medical Robotics, while Bo JIANG and Gangtie ZHENG serve as the medical and engineering directors. Grounded in the Institute of Precision Medicine of Tsinghua University, the Center creates robot-operated surgery rooms that tackle important challenges with generic and purpose-specific technological applications. These challenges include (1) data integration and smart control of operating room equipment; (2) generic technology of interventional surgical robot and their application in medical settings; (3) robotic assistant technology and robot design technology; (4) physician experience acquisition and characterization technology. Some research findings have been commercialized and will underpin the evolution of modern medicine with intelligence and robotic technology.
