Beijing Huaxin Hospital (The First Affiliated Hospital of Tsinghua University) was founded in February 1959. Previously administered by the former Ministry of Information Industry, it was transferred to the Ministry of Education in April 2003 and thenunder the leadership of Tsinghua University. It is a tertiary comprehensive hospital that integrates medical care, teaching, research, and preventive healthcare services.

The hospital is situated in the Jiuxianqiao locality of Chaoyang District, Beijing, close to the Fourth Ring Road and Airport Expressway, offering convenient transportation. It spans an area of 52,000 square meters with a construction area surpassing 70,000 square meters, housing a total of 770 beds. 

The hospital has five specialist medical centers for cardiology, urology, gastroenterology, oncology, and radiology imaging, 42 clinical medical and technical departments, and two research institutes. Among them, the Heart Center uses a range of innovative technologies to treat congenital heart disease, coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, dissecting aneurysms, and other conditions, and has attained a prominent track record among its international counterparts in the treatment of difficult, critical and complex cardiac malformations. The hospital has excelled in the field of interventional treatment for coronary heart disease, as well as in diagnosing and treating arrhythmias in both adults and children. The paediatrics department is widely recognized for its expertise in handling cases of neonatal asphyxia and hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy.

Other roles fulfilled by the hospital include High-risk Perinatal Care Center within the Chaoyang District Critical Maternity and High-risk Perinatal Care Network, Beijing Municipal Intrauterine Treatment Centre for High-Risk Mothers and High-Risk Perinatal Infants, Designated Hospital and Treatment Centre in Beijing for Critical Newborn Referral and Consultation, Beijing Neonatal Congenital Heart Disease Diagnostic and Treatment Center, China Complex Congenital Heart Disease Relief Center, and Beijing Residency Training Base for Major Internal Medicine, Surgery and Laboratory Technicians. The hospital is accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Hong Kong College of Surgeons as a facility for training towards the Membership of the Royal College Surgeons (MRCS).

The hospital has state-of-the-art medical equipment, such as a double C-arm angiography system, a Versa HD linear accelerator, ECT, MRI, advanced CT machines, and other top-quality medical tools. Additionally, it has two top-of-the-range surgicalroomsand eleven laminar flow clean operation rooms fitted with advanced surgical equipment from around the world, capable of meeting the requirements of any surgical operation.
